Assignment 2--Tech trends

Assignment 2: (DUE MIDNIGHT SEPTEMBER 2, WEEK 2) Begin your comment (response) with your last name, first name (offical UA name). In this assignment, you are going to do two things. 1) Summarize an article from one of the links shown for the class that describes a technological innovation or trend to show that you can write a summary (abstract) using proper sentence structure, grammar and punctation as well as that you can prepare a synthesis of an article (limit: 400 words). It has to be succinct, pithy. 2) Then you will include, at the beginning of the abstract, the citation of the online newspaper or magazine article properly cited as per MLA requirements. YOU MAY NOT USE AN ARTICLE THAT SOMEONE ELSE HAS ALREADY POSTED; READ THROUGH ALL POSTING PRECEDING YOURS TO MAKE SURE NO ONE HAS USED YOUR ARTICLE. Duplicates will not be accepted.

RUBRIC:
Acceptable - Meets all requirements given above, including writing competency, content and citation. (10 pts)
Unacceptable - Meets only two or fewer of the required areas (writing, content and citation). Failure to properly accomplish any of the three will result in an unacceptable (0 pts)

Assignment 1--Tech Skills

Assignment 1 Begin your comment (response) with your last name, first name (as they appear within UA) (DUE BY MIDNIGHT TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 2, WEEK 2). Explain in clear, concise, well-organized sentences with proper grammar and punctuation your own assessment of your technology skills. Describe your experiences with computers as well as other forms of technology, such as MP3 players, Blackberries, cell phones, etc. This class is organized around the assumption that you have your own computer and other tools, so it is assumed that you will do the work for the class at home on your own computer; either confirm this or explain how you plan to complete the work for the class.

RUBRIC:
Acceptable - Means you included all the information required meeting the standards described. (5 pts)
Unacceptable - Means you omitted some areas requested and/or did not meet the writing standards. Also work posted after the deadline will be considered unacceptable. (0 pts)
